There can be no finer harbinger of Christmas than the festive aroma of Cinnamon Plum Jam wafting from our preserving pans. 

Well, it makes a pleasant change from the vinegary Red Onion Marmalade which has assailed our visitors over the last few weeks.....

Cinnamon Plum Jam is a bit of a hit and miss affair, depending on finding wild plums just when we need them, which we squirrel away in the freezer for the ritual transformation with a dash of cinnamon as winter progresses. The thing with Cinnamon Plum Jam is the variation in colour depending on the plums we use. Some of this years harvest were the darkest red you could imagine but others cooked down into the gentlest of pinks and the result is a lovely spectrum of jams - each which subtle difference in taste but all containing the evocative tase of Cinnamon.

This has got to be one of my favourite jams!
